California here I come

I recently went to LA on a college Art trip, and it was fabulous! I really enjoyed learning about other artists, and seeing some really old stuff. We boarded the tour bus at 5:45 on Thursday morning and arrived back to Dixie on Sunday night at 7pm. We went to 2 museums a day and spent 1/2 a day at Disney land, went to the beach for a bit, shopped at the farmers market, but I didn't see anyone famous and unfortunately we were unable to visit the Temple because of the picketers. It was a blast. I was all alone, but made many new friends and can not wait to go again in the spring. This is one of my favorite exhibits at the contemporary art building in the LA County museum it's called Balloon Dog (Blue), 1994-2000, and Cracked Egg (Red), 1994-2000, by Jeff Koons, The picture is deceiving. I could walk under the dog or stand inside the egg if they'd let you get that close. All the art was under heavy security and you could not touch anything.

Mom's getaway

One of my favorite exhibits was at the LA County museum, it was the Vanity Fair Magazine covers. They were amazing. Dating all the way back to 1913.

Birthday Girl

Our beautiful second daughter has turned 16, Yep she is driving. (be glad you all live very far away) J K, She's a good driver. We bought a natural gas car to travel to St George and so that's what she putts around in. . . "most of the time" when we run to St Gorgeous she gets stuck driving moms Escalade or dad's Mega cab Dodge to school. It's tough to be a teenager. Most kids at Wayne HS ride the bus.
